Rust water stains in dishwasher Empty Rust water stains in dishwasher

Our water is terrible, we use tons of salt so that we don't turn orange. But even after spending a small fortune on rust free salt for the softener, the inside of my dishwasher is orange.

I've used bleach, bleach gel, all kinds of stuff. Nada.

We are hoping to put our house on the market. I hate to spend $800 to put in a dishwasher with a stainless steel drum.

Any suggestions?

Oh, I also have rust stains on the outside of the house on my red siding. The outside spigots are not attached to the softener. I was watering with the sprinkle hose and it was got on the siding and on the concrete footing. I think I can paint the concrete, but I can not figure out how to get it off the siding.

I have no idea, Char.
Obviously the problem is copper from the pipes. But how to prevent that from happening, beats me..

I have, on the other hand a bit greenish hue in the 'tub - I suppose I have either an Iron or other
green tinting metal in my water pipes.
It's not a problem, though. Just a bit staining after a long time dripping.
