All that dance!....
Do you like dancing?
I love to dance albeit I can't say I am a particularly great dancer, I just love to move to the rhythm of music :]
When I was little, about 10-12 y.o me and my older girl friend we used be into Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly movies,
and oh how we envied the beautiful, elegant dresses the women in the movies wore!
We tried to emulate them by dressing into our mom's dresses and shoes and putting on make-up
and accessories such as strings of beads, bracelets etc and of course we "elegantly" hold fancy purses lolol
And the way they danced in the movies, it was so cool,
I do love the modern dances, too - some of the moves they have now are so imaginative and spectacular
they defy the rules of physics and gravity,
but these traditional ballroom dances, particularly if performed by a man and a woman they are something
irreplaceable, special, unique.
Long gone era, eh.
One of my favorite dance movies of all time is "That's Entertainment!" - where they show a bit of everything starting
with b&w silent movies until more modern times. unbelievable what moves they had even back then!
I have no idea what today's dance are called these days - I am so out of touch,
but I remember some "in my days" -
who remembers
~ Mashed Potato !
~ the Twist !
~ The Charleston !
~ The Hustle !
~ The Boogie !
~ The Lambada !
yeah the Lambada! wasn't that a craze!
I think there was more but that's all I can recall at the mo' !

Re: All that dance!....
I like to dance but hubby doesn't. Even though I get winded quickly, at weddings my oldest son will jitter bug with me. I LOOOVEEE to jitterbug. In HS my boyfriend and I were able to do the lifts and flips and fun stuff. I'd kill myself if I attempted that now.
