What kind of doctor is the most important in treating your migraines?
I was with a neurologist for a long time as the main treating doctor. I then moved to a pain specialist, and he is by far the most important doctor in my care now.
What kind of doctor do you find the best for treating your migraines?

I used be with the neuros and GP only
Never nobody referred me to the pain specialist, so I dunno how I would fare with that
but.. same... ekhm wanted to say doesn't matter in my case
I believe a lot depends on the dr's bedside manners, too.
Right now my GP takes care of my Rx. I am okay with that for now.

Re: What kind of doctor is the most important in treating your migraines?
I was fortunate enough to find a neuro who is certified in pain management. He realizes that not all migraineurs have MOH, and that if we are resistant to preventatives ( or in my case have dastardly side effects) and triptans, that we deserve relief, whether it comes in the form of opiates or not. So, I've have umpteen neurologists, trying to find relief, but in my case it was the pain manager side of my Dr. that was the miracle worker for me.
