I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Not to exclude anyone, but this topic will likely not interest any males on the forum. You have been warned. lol
I am so sick right now. I know I'm talking to an empty forum, but I need to ask for help, even if it goes unheard.
I have been dealing with abnormal results from my last ultrasound which means I'll need another surgery, which I most definately don't have time for.
My period disappeared for three months, then I started spotting a bit after I started a supplement called estrosmart.
Twice now, I've had HEAVY, HEAVY, HEAVY bleeding with other large unmentionables. Last night I woke at three AM with the entire bed soaked through three full layers of covers. Something is very wrong. When I got up I was dizzy from having lost so much blood and it just wouldn't stop.
I probably should have called an ambulance but I just didn't have it in me to deal with ER and of course I know half the people in either hospital near my home.
My doctor is moving offices and not open on Sunday. I'm still waiting to hear back from the surgeons...which, in Canada could take another year or more.
I'm frustrated. I've never had these symptoms before, even though I've had many past surgeries for issues in the same area.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Milo,
I didn't get relief from my "female problems" until I finally gave up and had a complete hysterectomy. It started when I was ten with heavy, heavy cramping and missed days of school. I had mittleschmertz and many laprascopes due to ovarian cysts. I had one emergency surgery when the Fallopian tube strangled the ovary. Another emergency when the ovary ruptured and hemorrhaged. When they FINALLY did the hysteria I had adneomiosis ( kind of like endimitriosis but within the walls of the uterus). Took awhile to get the HRT figured out, but with the seven day Climera patch I have fewer hormone fluctuations than when I had functioning ovaries.
It's been close to twenty years and I've never regretted having had it done.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Thanks for your reply Bridget.
I really don't know what to do, but I feel in my heart that I'm sailing towards doing the same. The same surgeon wouldn't do it for me last surgery though.
I always make stupid decisions when it comes to myself though...so who knows what will happen. (not going to the ER last night is a pretty good example )

Hey Milo
How's it going. Nice place here. It sounds like that suppliment might be sending you for a loop. But, I don't know what it is.
For me, I went to a gyno to see about getting a hysterectomy to see if that would stop the migraines and he wouldn't do it. He said to go on the pill non stop for three months. After a month and a half, I wound up like you. Non stop and dizzy as hell. You sound worse though and you definately got to see a doctor. When I stopped taking the pill it took a good week to settle down.
I know it's frustrating to get a stupid doctor in Canada, but keep pushing. Go to the weekend clinics if you have to. I'm concerned that that much blood loss could make it hard for you with all that you are dealing with now. You have enough on your plate. This is probably an easy fix and something that will make you feel much better.

Nice to see you here Angela.
I'm in a bad way as it just started up again. I really hope my doctor is working tomorrow!

How are you doing today, Woman? Was your Dr. able to see you? Something has to change, you can't keep going like this. Have they done a ablation or D&C? (I only had a d&c done, and it didn't do any good).

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Well, I did get in to see a doctor, but not mine. First I got an appointment for Wed, but then I talked to my coworkers and they said Wed wasn't soon enough and I called back.
I got seen by a doctor I've never met but he was decent enough.
I then got bloodwork done and booked an ultrasound for the 9th.
I also have a note to give to the ER so that I can go there as soon as it starts up again. I have stopped bleeding since this morning. (no doubt for just a moment)
Super lucky me, I also woke with a head cold today....lol....go figure!
This doctor said he thinks it's fibroids, which would suprise me if I started getting fibroids for the first time at this age...but who knows right? My mom had a basketball sized one removed when she had her hysterectomy.
LATE NOTE: I just got my bloodwork prelims...my platlets are very high and my monocytes are elevated.

Just what you don't need. What do 'they' think the bloodwork results might mean? Sounds stressful. I hope the ultrasound gives some answers on the 9th.

Hey all, I stayed home from work because of cold symptoms but the bleeding just started again. I think I'm going to find a ride to the hospital. Big city hospitals parking costs are too high for me to drive....plus you never know if I pass out from all this bleeding.

Best of luck. A ride sounds very sensible to me.

I'm back from the hospital and I'm going to live Mighty happy about that. Lucky me, the hospital computers were completely down so it was an extra fabulous visit.

Ah, Dear Richard, I have missed you!i
Milo, how are you today? What are they doing to keep anemia at bay? (other than the frightening passing out prospect).

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Hey all, I'm still alive. Thank goodness for that! I am not out of the woods yet but the medication has helped control things to a point.
My cold ended up being a flu and I still have it but think I may be clear of it in a few more days. I have no appetite, have not for days, and no taste fro beer...which is REALLY odd. lol
I'm really happy to be posting this to a whopping 20 site members! When I first posted there were just a handful. I'm so happy to have you in my life!

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Update day.
I've continued to have major bleeding, though the medication seems to have decreased it somewhat. Today it's really bad again.
At 1200hrs I will down a huge amount of water in preparation for my ultrasound at 1315 hrs. The only good thing about this is that I have figured out the perfect ration of liquid +time = full enough but not overfull bladder. I've had so many ultrasounds before I've become quite the pro.

Glad you figured out the ratio! I remember when I was pregnant with one of the boys piddling down my leg cause I couldn't hold it.
Hope you get some answers.

Thanks for the update and glad you are getting help.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Oh my gosh, I am having a really tough time right now. I'm bleeding even heavier then before. Tomorrow is a holiday here, so I won't be able to see the doctor. Friday I have a fullly booked day, so it looks like Saturday will have to be the next day I can see anyone. I'll need to run a panel again to make sure my hglob is still ok.
I'm getting really frustrated and quite worried at this point.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
Hang in there kiddo.
Get as much rest as you can. Avoid standing and walking if you can as this can accelerate things. Get some Boost so you are getting proper nutrients and if you feel you are getting too weak and your condition gets worse or is such that you are too worried, then go to the hospital again.
I know it is frustrating to go there, but it is frustrating to wait and worry. How much is too much? Only a doctor can tell you.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
So I have a mig right now, so forgive me if I repeat myself. I couldn't read the posts before this.
I don't think I've updated since I saw the specialist. I posted on Rhondas about it, but I don't think here.
I'm waiting to see if I have cancer. I'm STILL bleeding heavy...have been bleeding non-stop since Oct 25th. I'm usually a positive person, but at the moment I'm feeling like something is really, really wrong. I'm having a lot of pain on my right side where I no longer have an ovary or fallopian tube. I'm not sure where the pain is coming from...shouldn't be there.
I find out my results on Thursday. It's been a rough three weeks but I'm glad I'm almost there.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
But what about what your doctors say?
It is very worrisome, to be bleeding for so long. Do they have any preliminary Dx?
It doesn't have to be cancer right away.
For us women, it could be easily endometriosis or polyps.
I am waiting with you for Tuesday.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
This is out of date as the site kinda died after my last post so I never updated.
I'm having surgery on Monday. My biopsy results came back cancer free, but they are still concerned thus the next step, which will be an exploration and ablation. Good times.

We will revive it
Well, that's great news- no cancer!
I am keeping my fingers crossed the further tests will show something ridiculously benign, and easy to treat!
Please keep us posted.

Re: I really, really need help with a woman's issue
I just noticed how old this post is and how much I've missed out on! I hope the surgery goes/went well. Let us know what is going on! I just had to have my implanon removed because it was causing non-stop bleeding (not as heavy as yours though) when the purpose was to stop my periods, so my migraines wouldn't get worse during them. I have been taking continuous birth control pills for the past three weeks now to try to keep the periods away. One concern my doctor had was that I might be losing too much blood to be healthy, since it lasted three months before we could stop the bleeding. But the blood volume tests came back o.k.
