Saying Hi to everyone here!
Hi everyone,
Haven't been posting much on any of the sites lately and if I have posted here before, which I think I have, (who knows, just call me Ms Ditzy) I have certainly lost my password!!!
Just poping in to say hello.
I watch all the sites cause I think I do learn things in the never ending battle to find answers.
The posts lately that people are scared to tell their doctors all their symptoms ring only to true.
Particularly the downers that come with all this.
I do wonder how much is to do with an adrenaline or thyroid drop/rise. So many of us seem to be afflicted with some sort of attack on our endocrine system in one way or another.
These usually autoimmune problems seems to be totally ignored by doctors and written off as nothing of importance.
In Australia iodine will soon be introduced into all processed food in the form of iodised salt. So even if doctors aren't telling their patients that their thyroids are haywire - the statistics must be such to have iodine made compulsory.
So when your having your ups and downs - do remember it could be your some crazy hormone have a spaz attack. Just imagine that if it does turn out to be something like your adrenals having a hiccup - they are supposed to respond to fight or flight - goodness knows what reaction it has on the brain when you aren't really in fight or flight situation!
Take care.
Marion

Marion, welcome! :]
It is indeed very interesting how much the endocrine system is affecting our migraines.
Certainly we women are up to 3 x more affected by hormones than men, there is no doubt,
so if such hormones as estrogen, progesterone play a role then other possibly may, too.
I however am totally clueless when it comes to these things - hormones, A-I disorders,
so I really can not speculate on this subject.

Hi
Hi Marion,
I'm happy to see you here.
I hadn't heard about the iodized salt. I guess if there is enough fish in one's diet it would take care of the iodine.
Australia doesn't have any selenium in the soil, but I'm not sure what effects that has.
I miss Sydney. The weather in New Mexico, at least where I am, has been flat out ugly. Very dry with a cold wind which is wreaking havoc on my poor head.

Re: Saying Hi to everyone here!
Here in the US, salt has been iodized for years. I guess I never, EVER, thought about why. Just one of those things that is. Shrug (wish there was a shrug emoticons).
Anyway, good to see you, Marion!!!!!!!!!!
