Off for a vacation!!!! Back with pics

OK, I've been in hell. The good news is...I'm off for nine full days and we are heading to the oregon beaches! We have a sweet, sweet oceanfront suite waiting for us with heliocopter and horserides along the beach. Please, please, please bless me with a migraineless rest. I really, really need it.

wow, sounds relaxing...have a great time!

Back and had perfect weather...actually have a sunburn....which is not normal for an Oregon Coast trip, but was sooooooooooooooooo perfect.

I'll upload some pics if I can get them figured out. I took the new slr and I think I may have screwed up all 300 of the most amazing pictures.

Look forward to the pics Milo. I am due for three days off soon. My three best friends and I all turn 50 this year so we are going for a girls weekend away.

I turned 50 on Sunday, the second one of us, and we now have a 50 candle we each use then pass on to the next victim. LOL

Great Pics! We have a similiar rock on the gold coast called elephant rock, I think haystack is more original!

The shitty thing about Cannon Beach is that to get healthy food you need to leave the area. The second day we faired better then the first, and hit a Costco where we stocked up for the rest of our stay. Fresh fruits and veggies made us feel soooooo much better.

I managed to escape my stress for the duration. Sadly it all came back when I returned. It's been such a stressful time in my life, perhaps the most ever. I am going to have to find a new way to ground myself. I'm thinking I may do that by working out daily again. I think it may help. I sure hope so anyways.

How do you guys ground yourselves?

I suppose I could trip out to the beach, but that would involve driving there and it would often be wet, so I'm not sure how often I would do it. I really do need to find it though. Hmmmmm...maybe start swimming again?

Exercise will help a lot. That is what I do to keep myself grounded. I can't stress how much it has helped me. Even though I still get just as many migraines, Fibro pain and TN pain, I handle it all much better. There is an improvement in intensity of the pain and I feel so much better mentally.

I've lost 50 lbs and am back to my pre-Lyrica weight and in much, much better physical condition. I can actually do things now. I don't feel like a prisoner in my own body. I still have days when I can't move easily but those are so much in the minority compared to a year ago. Even when I don't want to, I go to the gym and I do feel better afterward. Sometimes it only lasts a few hours before the pain comes back but that is a few hours of feeling better so is well worth it.

I'll get off my exercise soapbox now! LOL

Apparently, m sufferers are often very organised people - as we have discussed many times before - the messy desk can bring on m's for some.

So I have finally found enough energy to get my surroundings, home and work, reasonably well organised. It has taken a bit of doing to encourage my darling one to throw truckloads of his hordings out, but I actually have order for the first time in ages.

Seems bizarre, but I am actually more relaxed. Not stressing when I don't feel well that I should be trying to fix the mess. Consequently feeling much better. Stupid hey.

But maybe this is what you need too?

A clearing out, both physically in your surroundings and mentally with people and dramas that bring on that dreaded stress that does us so much damage.

Sad to say but I am now actively avoiding people who bring me grief and in doing that not seeing people I really like. But I am coming to the conclusion it's really for the best.

Sadly, much of it is from work, and in today's market, I can't afford to leave the security of the job I have. I am looking, have been actively looking for almost a year, but the market is very, very tough right now...so I'm stuck. I'll survive though.
