migraine hands....
I had one of those little migraines yesterday that don't have a lot of pain but plenty of neurological stuff. I had some beautiful oysters that I had to cook or they would go bad which would be a sad waste of oysters. So I'm being very careful while shucking them because my hands were a little shaky.
Wouldn't you know it, on the LAST one, the knife slips and slices right into my thumb. Blood everywhere, but NOT on my oysters. My thumb is still throbbing and my whole left hand hurts. Why does slicing my thumb make the whole hand hurt???? I don't know. I do know I shouldn't have been handling a sharp knife but the oysters wouldn't have lasted and they were delicious.
Such a pain.. literally! I wish I could cook when I have a migraine but this is why I shouldn't.

Re: migraine hands....
Owwww! I have tried the same thing myself with chicken, and ended up having to get stitches. I hope your's is better than that. I know the thumb has an artery, so I'm sure it has more nerves than other fingers. take care!

Re: migraine hands....
It's not just my hands...I get so uncoordinated. Stumbling, slurring.
I wonder if during a migraine ALL our nerves are on high alert and that's why your whole hand hurts.

Re: migraine hands....
Me too!
I am super clumsy on certain days. I have a feeling that my hands are not clutching onto things properly,
stuff falls out of them all the time.
The smaller the thing the worse it is.
Even my family members noticed that, long time ago, the clumsiness. We didn't connected it back then to M until years
and years later.
Sorry about your thumb Alli. Oh no, first your toe, now the thumb.. how's the toe now?
You too, Sara, stitches, yikes!! hope all is well, now?

Risa-
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I did that back when I was a newlywed, so it has been many years ago.

My toe is still a little sore but getting better. It only hurts when I put pressure on it. I'm just glad I didn't lose the toenail.

Re: migraine hands....
All I have is a two inch green/purple/yellow bruise on my arm where for no reason I walked in to the corner of the wall. Felt so foolish. Nothing in my way, didn't trip, just misjudged...
I think, for me, part of the problem is losing and gaining back so much weight. Three years ago when I went on Topamax I lost 40 pounds very quickly. When I went off later I packed on 50 pounds even quicker than I lost it. I think my eye/hand is still perceiving me as a skinny person. And I certainly am not. I went from a size 8 to a 16/18.
That's the ONLY thing I liked about topamax.

Re: migraine hands....
No stitches. I put a butterfly on it and that kept it closed. Finally doesn't throb anymore. Phew!
