Slow release gel caps... Empty Slow release gel caps...

Is there a difference between regular capsule and the slow/ continuous release one?

I do understand the difference in how the medicine work, but what I mean is the gelatin capsule itself - if, suppose,
I want to take a smaller amount of the drug and for this I take the gel cap apart in order to put some of the ingredient
into another empty gel cap,
does it have to be also some slow-release type of a gel cap or it doesn't matter,
any will do as long as it is another gelatin capsule?

I don't think the would make a difference, but I really wouldn't recommend doing it. you won't know how much "filler" you're getting or how much medicine.

It's true, but I think if the amount of the original gelcap is divided in half, then taking a half of the original amount
shouldn't be dangerous, even if the halves aren't exactly even.
The question is, if the gelcap for the extended release is any different that the regular one.

Thanks, Char :]
