Travelling with meds...any problems?
As I was packing tonight I though geez, I take alot of meds. They are in their proper pharmaceutical containers with my name, but many are schedule drugs. Will I have any problem getting through security? Thanks.

Re: Travelling with meds...any problems?
I traveled to Paris recently with a friend who takes 15 different meds a day - we had them in their containers and also had copies of the prescriptions. She had them in her carry-on bag (Please do not check any meds you need to take on a regular basis!) and had about 2 weeks worth. No one blinked an eye when we went through security - though she was patted down in France because she forgot to take her jewelry off! I carry a couple of narcotics with me when I travel and have never been questioned and I fly maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Enjoy your trip! L

Just be careful that they are all poperly labelled and don't carry "emergency packs" like most of us do in our pusres...you know like the little plastic baggy in my wallet that has one percocet, two torodal and four t'3's in it. Those little non labelled packs will be what gets you in trouble.
I had a patient travel to Europe and they took away all fo his dexidrine, even though it was all properly labelled AND he had a letter from us saying what was what. The bastards said that because they were in a blister pack that they couldn't let him take them in. It was a very, very tough two weeks for him, because he had meds taken away that he really really needed and couldn't just stop taking.

Ask your pharmacist to put them in a prescription bottle with a label. I hate blister packs anyway - can never get the pills out!

Re: Travelling with meds...any problems?
The officer may argue that they are not able to identify the medication if it is mixed in with another in a blister pack. (even if it says clearly on the blister pack which is which)
If it is just one med it may be ok, and if the maxalt is the melting one, then it would be identified on the individual packs anyways .

I am going to do that, thanks! I anyway bite 1/4 off Maxalt oral every time I take it (I have the stronger ones) ,
and the rest is left unopened in the pill cutter, still working very good, so I figure just to be sure
I may block the light completely out by lining the container with aluminum foil if I want to.
Thanks for the tip :] !!!
