Porsche Fan, how is your shoulder
Ha, I guess I wrote it all in the topic line. But how is your therapy and shoulder doing. I'm hoping it's all past you now.

Re: Porsche Fan, how is your shoulder
hello!
i'm doing ok, just been busy with stuff.
shoulder has been extremely sore. had to take a few weeks off of doing any type of serious exercise while my heart got checked out. we found a couple new things to deal with, but nothing ground-shaking.
it's been very hot and humid, which irritates the heck out of it.
i've build up some scar tissue, and I just got cardiac clearance about 2 days ago to start doing more exercise. i did a full work-out this morning and jogged a mile (whoaaa) on the treadmill and did weights, and stretches. it doesn't feel too bad right now.
i irritated the heck out of it last week at a business function. i shook way too many people's hands. my the end of the night i was holding my arm. not good.
other than that, same stuff. fighting off a sinus infection--actually they are feeling better. my ENT has me on a saline/bactroban rinse 3x a day and it seems to be helping. i've noticed a cut in headache too. hmmm....
hope all you guys are well. sorry i haven't been around much.

Oh PF....I'm so happy to know you are able to work it out. I've been lucky enough to know that feeling myself lately. I hope you continue to see progress. You could start what I started doing with my old patients. In an effort to forego the spread of germs during a bad flu outbreak, I started knuckling the ones that insisted on shaking hands. Yeah, it looks really, really funny in some circles but the majority of my patients LOVED it!

Good to hear from you PF. I witnessed during my therapy for a frozen shoulder someone going through similar shoulder therapy as you. YIKES! I felt sorry for him (well, not as much as I felt sorry for me, but close).

Re: Porsche Fan, how is your shoulder
I just realized something. With your heart condition you probably can't take any decongestants, can you. I had a miserable sinus infection this summer (I think it's the heat and the air conditioning, going in and out if it all day) and my BP was up. The Dr asked if I was taking a decongestant, and when I indicated I had he said that that was the probable cause.
I had a friend whose BP went so high from decongestants that he was getting dizzy. He blamed it on his vertigo and came very close to stroking out.
I think the rinsing is probably the safest route for all of us.
Are you better now? I'm impressed you were able to go a mile on the treadmill. You continue to sit on a pedestal in my eyes.

Re: Porsche Fan, how is your shoulder
sorry guys, i have to catch up on everyone's posts.
thanks for the kind words milo, para, and risa. i'm just a schmoe that's trying to get in better shape to get off some of these blasted meds.
i have a sinus CT tomorrow to take another look. maybe there's something that can be done. we've had a series of storms that has really blasted my head lately. my sinuses were bad yesterday and draining. i had motion sickness too.
the bp issue, well....it is an issue. despite more exercise and losing weight, my bp has gone up to 130/80's, which doesn't make sense. i see my cardiologist in 2 weeks. my pacemaker is kicking in a lot. some testing earlier this summer brought some new stuff into play. i'm wondering if i've had a small heart event.
i did a really big (for me) workout on monday night. got 4 miles in on my bike (recumbant bike, i know, it's not like hitting the road) and did a ton of muscle exercises. i think i broke up some scar tissue in my shoulder--which feels much better with exercise. in the evening, i got a pretty odd feeling in my chest. i think i threw a bit of a different heart rhythm. i think i know what is was, so i'll talk with my doc.
saw my two endocrinologists...yes, i have two. one for the endocrine stuff, and one for the neuroendocrine stuff (pit. tumor). Both are very happy with my progress. both are at a mega hospital, and have to suck wind to the doc that decided to put a pacemaker in me. without it, i wouldn't have had any improvement. the neuroendocrine has been extremely helpful too.
the good thing, is i need to buy smaller shorts and shirts...and that will mean jeans too headed towards fall.
LOL...and the tux won't fit either.
but thanks. wishing you guys well!
