Introducing Myself, Teri Robert
Hi, everyone!
The first Migraine I remember happened when I was six. There's a long history of Migraines, "sick headache," and sinus headaches on both sides of my family.
A little over 10 years ago, my Migraines went totally out of control. Five or six days a week, I was stuck in bed all day with the Migraine from hell. Y'all know what that's like. You have no life. It was during that time that I learned that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine specialists, but the bullet, and traveled eight hours each direction to see a specialist in Philadelphia. It was the best move I ever made. It wasn't quick, or easy. It took several trips a year to Philly, but four years later, my Migraines got to where they are now. I have no more than a dozen a year, and they're usually fairly easily treated with triptans.
My fondest wish is for everyone to be able to get their Migraines managed as well as mine are now. I realize that it may not last forever. There will most likely come a time when my preventives stop working as well, and I'll have to go back to trying new ones. For now though, I'm thrilled with my Migraine management.
Three of our grandchildren have Migraines. Now, I'm determined that their lives will be easier than my life with Migraines has been. That's one reason I work as a patient educator and advocate in the field of Migraine disease and other headache disorders.
Here's to the future!

Charlotte,
Thank you. Especially since I just took on an additional part-time job, I may not be here a lot, but will try to stop by regularly when not traveling.

Thanks, and you're welcome! Sorry it took me so long to reply. Been really busy. I'm leaving Wednesday morning to go to a conference in Arizona, and it seems that things keep popping up to be done. LOL!
