Well, the party's over. Empty Well, the party's over.

Well, after a pretty good 5 days the party's over. I am now back in the land of cruel and unusual punishment. I knew the grace period wouldn't last, but I enjoyed every minute I had. It was a very welcome breath of fresh air at a good time. I have received denial #2 for SS and now am preparing to file a request for an Administrative Hearing. Please keep me in your prayers, medications (ha there's a Freudian slip...), happy thoughts, and Voodoo Chicken ceremonies. (woo hoo, the meds aren't doing much for the pain, but I guess my sense of humor is still alive.)

I'm sleeping ok, between the pain pills, phenergan, and Nyquil (and sometimes Tylenol or Advil PM) I have no complaints in that department. I still feel pretty good mood wise regardless of the pain. I have been off Ambien CR for 3 weeks now. No desire to ever put that back into my body.

The migraine however has come back with a vengeance. This one started Friday afternoon. I've medicated, slept, rested, medicated, etc. I can get partial relief, but it ramps back up whenever the meds start to fade. I'm fighting the ER visit, but I figure by tomorrow I'm not going to be able to hold out. The pain is just below the "Someone please kill me" level but way over the "I'm okay, I'm medicated, and it will be ok" line.

I'm sitting in the living room now and my dad (Bless his really hard of hearing self) has the TV up watching a very busy action movie. I think I'm going to have to make this a short night, because I don't know how much longer I can stop myself from taking a big hammer to the TV so it will stop screaming.

This is so bad right now. I'm really hurting. I don't want to ask my dad to go to ER tonight and wait hours. Then he'd have to get up and get my 8 year old daughter dressed and off to school. I just can't do that. So I'll stick this out until I get her off to school tomorrow and then go if I'm still hurting.

Hope and hugs to all.

K

Kimba, sorry for the relapse. Go to ER if you think that will help and take care of your self. I hope it lifts soon.

Ditto here. Don't make yourself suffer anymore, sweetie, you don't need that, go to ER.

I too am sorry the fun didn't last longer but I sure hope it will be back, and soon!

I was wondering, does your TV has closed captioned option? nowadays almost all TV have, you just have to fidn it in the menu
and activate it.
This way he can read dialogues instead of listen to the TV, and you both win.
The downside, not everything is captioned. However, most is.
Does he wear hearing aids?

Another option is, there are personal amplifiers that also help with listening without requiring turning up the volume for all

You can keep one at home, so whenever he comes you don't have to get ear splitting sound level and massive headache later...
