Odd things we do with migraines
Today I forced myself to go to work with a migraine. A migraine with pretty severe neurological effects. I was stupid to drive, but my need to work outweighs my common sense sometimes.
I left work as soon as I was caught up and before I could don anything too stupid. I wasn't able to take any meds so nothing I did had to do with meds.
I spent considerable time trying to get into my car. Eventually I realised it WASN'T my car. Opps
What odd things have you ended up doing while in the midst of a migraine???

Re: Odd things we do with migraines
One day my husband noticed that I washed the same load of laundry three times. I couldnt figure out that since it was wet in the washer, it was clean. I put leftovers in the oven instead of fridge (overnight). I went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of things I didnt need because I thought my list was an old one.I ate a wheat filled piece of cake, even though I had been gluten free for over 7 years. Of course then I was sick for days because of that. Many more, but those are typical.

Here is another one: I wore my watch upside down all day today. I kept looking at it and sort of wondering why I couldnt read it, I chalked it up to migraine. It was migraine indirectly!

The other day I actually talked to a telemarketer who called. Had a long conversation with her and gave out all kinds of personal information and even agreed to a bunch of stuff. How stupid is that? I never talk to telemarketers!

Re: Odd things we do with migraines
i've gotten nailed with some heavy M's this past week.
i was up all night tuesday...had to drop the nuke meds to kill it off which don't let me sleep. i was a total zombie--no sleep going on for 36 hours.
i fell asleep at 4 pm....at 4:15 long time friend of the family dropped by with her son with a gift. they called my cell, i didn't hear it. they saw my cars and i was home. rang the bell 3 times, finally i awoke. i was asleep for 10 minutes and totally zombied. i was awake but more asleep.
my friend...one hell of a mom noticed that i was out, said "get back to be honey." i called her today to apologize. she said i didn't reveal any state secrets, LOL. but lack of sleep is really, really hard on me.

Re: Odd things we do with migraines
lolol guys
I don't remember what funny stuff I did recently but listen to what my husband did, and HE wasn't even in the throes of M!
What he did, he set the clock at 6:30am as he was leaving to Vegas for weekend with friends.
We have very very dark bedroom,
so first he walked into my bed and shook it violently scaring the bejeebies out of me,
then he toppled over my filled to the top water bottle onto my bed!
I jumped out none too pleased, I tell yah
"Why in the world didn't you turn the bedside lamp on if you know I always have water by my side?!" - He doesn't know, and
scratches his head.... - that's my husband :]
Had to quickly shed my cold wet pajamas and look for dry garments while butt naked and disoriented from the mess
as some spare stuff I keep for change by my bed were also here and there wet from the toppled water,
while he was standing by looking and laughing his butt off!
And then I had to sleep in his bed because in mine the entire top half had to be left uncovered to dry.
Even pillows were a bit wet!
My husband has always threatened to throw a water on me to wake me up.
Well I guess he finally made good on his promise, eh? lololol

Re: Odd things we do with migraines
ha I am enough of an idiot without a major migraine to screw me up!!! I have put my undergarments on inside out and never noticed until my next shower. I have misplaced many things and found them in the strangest places, my keys in the freezer stuff like that. I have searched the parking lot for my car to realize that my mom drove, not me. I have zoned out driving in my hometown and had to pull over to figure out how to get where I wanted to be.
I am a repeater. I have often repeated the same things over and over in the same conversation. I get off topic and lose whoever it is I am talking to. I have had the episodes where I just don't make sense! I speak slowly and actually feel like I can't find the word I want for my sentence, and said something really stupid, realizing I was saying it but unable to stop!
I have forgotten my dogs outside! Left pizza to burn in the oven. I also trip and stumble, usually over something, just because I didn't notice it! I have been early to appts, late to appts, just because I didn't correctly read the clock or the reminder!
I know enough now to just laugh about it. I am dopey without the migraines, but now at least I can use them for an excuse for my normal absentmindedness!!!!

Earth to Kim
I get up to go get a certain thing, but I cannot remember what I left the room to go get. I've gone to my room 3 times now to get the cookies and come out empty handed all 3 times. I buy things I have absolutely no use or need for if I am shopping before the migraine becomes blinding. I mean weird stuff. I'll leave that to your imaginatons. I frantically clean the bathrooms with cleansers that irritate my pain. My entire family asks me why I do this when I know it only makes things worse. All I can tell them is that I know already that it is going to be a bad one and I don't want to waste this opportunity. So my tubs and showers sparkle and a person could eat off my floors. I'm going to suffer anyway, I may as well get this things done. I also strip the beds and wash the sheets. And then I just wind down like a wind up doll. I just kind of come to a stop and then sit there. Its creepy to me. Then I bottom out and its lights out and hoping all the meds will at least knock me out if not knock out the pain.
