Radiofrequency Empty Radiofrequency

I had RFTC done Wednesday. The migaines were getting just unbearable for so long. I wasn't crazy about more injections in my head, and having my nerves basically burned into a state of numbness. The doctor told me this round is a temporary fix. If it is successful, I will go back in and have them cauterize the nerve permanently. I The back of my head feels like a pin cushion. Feels like one, too.

I don't know what to think. I'm not crazy about the idea, but I'll try anything. I keep thinking I'm in the beginning stages of menopause, although I think I'm way to young to have it. I'm only 40, but I've been having so many hot flashes and weepy mood swings. Since the only way the doctor can decide if I am or not is my not having a period for 12 months. So I am off my birth control for about 4 weeks now. No period, but oy the mood swings and the weepiness. I started One a Day for Menopause. Hot flashes have eased up. No sign of the monthly bill.

Migraines are about the same. Its so ironic. I prayed for years for early menopause so the hormone component of the migraine would go away. I think I'm actually a bit worse. So go figure. I don't know what else to do. I am still waiting on disability. Its become a quest. I worked hard all my life so I have earned any assistance I can get.

I've heard that it is not impossible to start peri-menopause early, but this is uncommon, and if I was you I would like
to get second opinion if this is not due to some other female related causes.

If it's not, from my own experience, if this is disruptive to your life, I'd say consider taking some form of HRT.
before I knew what it mean to have hormonal imbalance and how it may affect daily life I was all for "let nature take it course".

Once the hot flashes and mood swings hit full force, I got over it quickly
and now I am " screw nature", I just want to be normal!

It's sometimes just too hard, there is a point when you can't bear the symptoms anymore - when that happens
you just need to do something about it.
Hopefully you can have this tricky stuff sorted out asap, as this is not fun to be a Peri-menopausal woman,
particularly with migraines.

I had radiofrequency nerve ablation done a few years ago. I actually found my head pain going down, but it really caused severe burning of my scalp! My therapist suggested that my body was prepared to experience a certain amount of pain, so when the pain lowered in my head, it was only natural for the pain to be made up for in scalp pain. I can't explain it well myself, but my therapist has been able to help explain it better. But just be prepared that RFA can lead to burning the skin in the scalp. I couldn't lie on my pillow for weeks because of the pain to my scalp.

Radiofrequency Empty Been in peri-menopause for a while

Post  weeder67 Mon 05 Mar 2012, 7:46 pm

My gynecologist tested my hormones 3 years ago, and my FSH levels were way high...over 100. She told me then that I was "in menopause." Now I just have to wait 12 months with no period to make it medically official. I have gone 8 months without bleeding, and BOOM there it is --heavy, painful, and miserable. When my periods became irregular at 38, migraines went from bad to worse. I have a feeling that my hormones began slowing down then...6 years ago. I did the same thing as you did....I quit taking birth control pills six months ago, and still no period. Now I have horrible hot flashes, moodiness, brain fog, and I don't sleep well at all. My mother has migraines as well, and she has always told me that "they will get better when you hit menopause, mine did." Six years in, and I am still waiting. My headaches are better than they were 4 years ago, but I still have a migraine about 18 days out of the month. I would start taking the pill again, but it's way too expensive, and there is a history of breast cancer in my family. Good luck to you, Kimbak. I understand how you feel.
