So, how is everybody doing migraine wise, since Spring is here?

We in BC had very nice last few days - warm, sunny, and today is nice, too but extremely windy.
While letting the dog out in the backyard I thought the gust of wind will literally rip my head off lolol
(which wouldn't be so bad, considering, lolol). Looks like it quieted down a bit now, though.

The wind is always a considerable trigger for me. So are the allergies, which unfortunately seem to started for me as well -
the runny nose, the itchy throat and eyes, eeek.
Already started taking Reactine religiously...

Too keep it short.....very rough time.

Nasonex has been my friend. Along with mupirocine+saline for nasal passageways and Alrex drops for my eyes. Tough spring indeed.

heavy pollen in the air today with massive pressure changes. warm front shot temps up to 82 degrees, then dropped to 50 within a couple hours.

on top, had mega eye exam with nuclear drops. my pupils were as dilated as possible. add in eye irritation, migraine from the exam, and the baro changes, not fun.

however benadryl, some more Alrex, and Nasonex are helping + Tylenol.

Oh gosh - family complains lately I snore like a drunk!
but my nose is so plugged up I can barely breath!
in the morning I wake up startled for the lack of breath - my throat is so dry also.

I take Reactine every day without fail and it helps a lot, but still - constant allergy turns into semi- sinus infection,
this in turn into medium strength migraines daily.

All in all I am miserable most of the time :[
But, yeah, the weather was mostly sunny in our parts last few days.
I even managed to clean up the deck a bit, yay!

I did some yardwork too...but it's rarely worth it as I suffer so much afterwards. I'm usually ok if I remember a reactine before I start. I have such a love hate relationship with the season!!!!

I actually wish I had allergies lol. I have non-allergic rhinitis and am miserable year round as I have a non-allergic reaction to who knows what. I tested negative for all common allergens and it doesn't seem to respond to any suggested treatments. Only thing I haven't done is surgery as it seems like a lot of risk for what shows up during exams as not much wrong (turbinates aren't huge but they said they could try).

I've settled on Atrovent nasal spray to help the dripping nose. I can't take it all the time or else I'll get stuffy...but its nothing like rebound congestion like Afrin can cause. I took that stuff one time (actually on doctor's suggestion to take it for a couple days as he thought if that helped it was an indication surgery could help) and was miserable for a whole day afterwards! I'll also sometimes take Sudafed if I get sinus pain with my daily headache, but thats also another thing to limit (rebound potential).

If you all haven't gone to an ENT and sleep specialist in addition to an allergist, it could be helpful. I'm glad I got my sinuses checked and a sleep study done, even though they didn't find anything to help me. Waking up with congestion and trouble breathing can be a sign of more than allergies sometimes. I wake up congested and realized I only mouth breathe. It helps a tad to sleep propped up as if I'm flat I don't get a clear airway. But, at least I didn't have apneas or respiratory related arousals on the sleep study. I wish all this medical stuff was easier to diagnose and treat. If it was just the headache I could deal better! Best wishes.
