Hypercoagulation Empty Hypercoagulation

My Dr. just ran a special test for this, since my recovery from Lyme is stalling out. She said I had the highest (worst) results of anyone she has tested. Yikes! It means my blood is way too thick. The Lyme bacteria produces Fibrin which makes the blood sticky and helps the bacteria evade antibiotics.

Also I have a very high viral load, not sure what thats about. My dr. is sending me the results and a treatment plan. I was in to see her last week, but these results werent back yet. The treatment for hypercoagulation is Heparin injections (in tummy). I have done this before, no big deal.

There is some info out there that shows good results on migraines with Heparin. I hope so, mine have built up to well over 15/month again Mad Anyone ever tried this for migraine?
Hugs,
Cindy

Cindy,

I have heard of this, and sounds like you will be having very frequent blood work. I don't have a hyper-coagulation problem, but my lipids clump and stick together like crazy...thus the need for anti-platelett meds like Plavix to keep things slippery and aspirin.

I do think both of them help me a lot in terms of M. I was on heparin for a while post stroke in 06, but haven't been on it since then. I know a loading dose of ASA helps with M when I have a bad one.

Take care--sounds a bit rough.

PF, I got my test results back and its kind of scary. Normal Fibrinogen Activity is 310, mine is 327. My Prothrombin Fragment 1 2 is 723 affraid (normal is 80-315). T/AT is 55.7 (normal is <4.3). My CD62P that indicates viral load is 27 (normal is <4.3).

So, I have sludgy blood (yes that was the word in the report), inflammation and high viral load. All caused by Lyme and assorted other co-infections still wrecking havoc after 19 years..... Of course the pharmacy screwed up my order and I didnt notice until I got home that I have syringes and needles, but no heparin!

Our new house is a 20 min drive to pharmacy instead of 5 like it was before. Also, I had to order $140.00 worth of supplements from Amazon last night. Oh, how I hope this next leg of treatment makes me better enough to work part time again. So, what are you "working on" right now? Between the 2 of us, they could conduct some pretty awesome research studies!
