Re: Wow, so quiet!...
I have noticed how quiet it is here, too. I am settled into my new house, which I love. We are very close to the mountains and can easily see them from our house. I find that peaceful. Tomorrow I have to drive 8 hours to Rochester, NY for my cousins funeral. She was only 55, but had Pulmonary Hypertension. It will be a touching ceremony as she had 5 boys and I lost count of how many grandchildren.
I hope my head cooperates, but long drives usually are a trigger for me. I also have to pack food for myself since I am gluten free and this is a large Italian family. When I get back, I am going to work on getting my "lollipops" back. I am hating the Morphine IR I am trying instead.
It is an insurance matter-my Dr. is willing to prescribe them for me. They are quite expensive and so far I cant find a pharmacy that will sell them in less than a full box of 30. Last time that lasted 9 months. OK< gotta go find a funeral dress!
Hugs,
Cindy

Re: Wow, so quiet!...
i have a theory that the more quiet the forum gets, the more of us are under the weather or frankly not doing that great. i've had my fair share of challenges lately.
looks like i've done some tendon and nerve damage to both elbows and hands. seeing my ortho surgeon mondy to see what's up. at least, i have 2nd to 3rd degree wrist sprains. also, could fall back into side effects of an anti-biotic that i took 3 rounds of this year that can damage tendons.
visited my cardiologist a couple days ago. the inside joke was "ok, we're here to plan the rest of my life." cardio's says, "well, how about the next week?" i have a great working relationship with this guy. i trust him with my life, and he is one cool character unders stress.
follow up is near christmas and we'll see if it's time to add two more stents or bypass. i see a vascular surgeon next month for some vein abnormalities in my arm.
it's serious business, but we work well together. the cardio says that i'm his mostly closely followed patient. he dictates his notes while you're in the office....one thing i do like to hear "if "porsche fan" has any problems or questions, contact me immediately."
he said to me "porsche fan, you are doing absolutely everything in your power. you are staying positive. you exercise, you take your medicine, and you take interest in your health and medicine." i'm not the patient that comes in after abusing their body for decades.
that's what makes this sh1tty. each visit, each lab work, each test, each procedure you are measuring and projecting your mortality. it's rough. luckily i am resistant to getting the blues or depression. this isn't being flip. i know when i'm not feeling good. i know when i'm more tired and sleeping more. i told my dad....if i didn't recognize these issues, than there's a major problem.
so yes, things are rough. i will emphasize that migraines really, really suck but i think they do in fact "build character." they do make you a tougher person IMO. i might get flak on it, but you'll face it when something comes up in your health that is really out and out nasty.
i've been down that road...so i'm sticking to my story.

Wow!! PF, you have a lot on your plate right now. I like what you said about "building character". There is a scripture in the NT that states the same thing in a sense. That we are not to be surprized when difficulties, challenges and trials come our way, that they build our character and refine us. It doesn't feel like it when we are going through it, but once out the other side it does change us and i think ultimately for the better.

Re: Wow, so quiet!...
I'm with you Risa! I am so sick of the pain. I am worn out! Migraine pain is the worst but then I have had tooth pain for 6-7 weeks hard and both my achillies and my kness. I really need to lose weight but the migraines take all my energy. I really wish someone somewhere could find us a cure!

ps---PF I am thinking of you. Wishing you better days ahead. I do like your attitude.

Re: Wow, so quiet!...
We all need a break from the pain...I agree. I am hoping that a cure will be found but really not expecting one. The pharmacuetical companies make too much money off us to allow one to actually be put on the market.
That is the sad sick truth I think.

Re: Wow, so quiet!...
I'm going to go crazy today. I have an eight page paper due as a mid term exam on a very complicated subject and i head to the dentist in about an hour to get work done. I have to go back again four hours later as well. Then I need to deal with all the pain and finish this horrible paper. Ugh. Good times!!!!!
