Our Christmas wish is going to happen!!

Our christmas wish is happening! Carmen, the other grandmother, and my hubby's ex (who I get along with excellent), has been given interm custody today and the hospital says that they are likely to release Mathew on December 24th!. I have never been able to touch him, let alone hold him.

He is 4 lbs 13 oz now and my arms actually ache as every instinct in my body is to rush over and tuck him into a cuddle. So I fill my arms in gifts and clothes and necessities for his future needs, and wait.

We are planning a Christmas dinner together. Just 5 adults so it doesn't become overwhelming on his first day.

It has been a difficult two months and all the bad stuff has been washed under the bridge. Mathew is in good hands and I am close enough to watch over him in his life and step in and help him along. I am so happy I keep tearing up.

Maternal instincts do not go away with your own. Mathew is not even my blood, but he is the blood of those whom I love deeply and invested in unconditionally.

My mother and I had a big falling out about it two weeks ago, but we talked about it. Ultimately her love for me made her accept that I have far reaching threads that bind and now she has come around and is open to become a part of his life now too. She has already gotten a gift and I invited her to the baby
shower in January.

This is really the most wonderful moments in my life. Right up there with having my own children.

Yes. Lots of warm blankets, tiny clothes, diapers, crib, bedding, you name it. Friends and family donated it all. He is all set.
