Update and Bad M
Hi All,
I know it has been a few weeks since I posted last, so I just wanted to give a quick update and let you know that I have been thinking of all of you.
The migraines are pretty bad right now. The meds are helping- I am on Nucynta ER as well as Nucynta immediate release for pain. This, klonopin, and benedryl are helping some. I also have toradol shots I can do here. this one hit with a vengeance last week and hasn't really let up much. I have just finished a short course of decadron and that is helping. However, I'm worried it is getting close to IV depakan time. I have been trying to avoid that, but if things don't improve soon, I will call my dr about setting one up soon. I just hate it when the headaches get this bad.
The fainting is about the same. Thought, it is a little worse now due to heat. I saw my GP last week and he has been keeping an eye out for anything that might help. There is a new EP in town. He did say he would call and if check if he would see me. (he wasn't sure, because I have seen another dr in that group in the past and he is not sure the new dr would take me because of this.) But I am glad that he is willing to help.
In good news, I am working on a children's book about Dora. Of course, I have changed her name to Cora in the book. So that is good.
I'd love any suggestions you might have.

I know extreme weather always made it worse for me. On the migraine board that Platy posted the link to, I read that taking an antihistamine with decongestant when you know bad weather is coming in, reduces swelling against the tri-mingle nerve that triggers migraine from the nasal area.
I had never been taught that before and wish I had know when a rainstorm, snowstorm or an extreme heat index is expected, to take the antihistamine that has decongestant in it and keep taking it as directed until weather levels off. In Kentucky where I live, our heat indexes were up to 115 degrees for 2 months two summers ago and it was hell migraine wise. Our weather never "eases" into winter or summer, it just a big jump from freezing to roasting
Anyway, its just a new thing I learned and probably wouldn't hurt to try. Since you are in a migraine storm already, it might take a few days.
Thinking of you and praying for you!

Hi All,
Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers! Same is going out to all of you!
I broke down and asked for an IV of Depakan, my neuro faxed the order and it is scheduled for tomorrow at 1. I am hoping this will give me some much needed relief from the pain.
As to weather I have found that the headaches get worse when the pressure drops. I am in Central Alabama and the weather is never consistent, so I just sort of go with it.
