American Idol...

Post  Cluelesskitty on Fri 25 Mar 2011, 9:36 pm

Any fans of this show?

It became so nerve wracking and fascinating, especially after the last episode with Casey being surprisingly voted off
by American voters, and all of a sudden being interrupted by Ryan while barely starting to sing.

Casey's reaction was- wow - I was afraid he is gonna puke or faint or something!
Personally, I couldn't believe he got less votes than say Thia (which I am not impressed with in the least bit) - or even Haley which I adore but gotta be fair- she's just got tons of sweet charm over Casey, not the talent.

Anybody noticed how this season the talent is so unbelievable?, it's pretty hard to predict who is gonna be a winner.

Jacob and Pia are strong competitors, but everyone else has this something that can make it or break it.
Can't wait how all this will end!

I was slightly jaded by life, so I found Casey's raection just a tiny bit too over the top....BUT...I actually think he might be quite physically unwell which may have added to it. I'm so freakin jaded!

I love Casey and I love James and I love the dude that sounds like Sting. I'm not really fond of any of the women except I do like Nieema. I fear she won't be around too much longer though, as I figure the people actually doing the voting won't keep voting for her.

I have a minor hate on for the Lusk dude. Just not my type of singing at all.

I was initially very freaked out about the person who is calling himself Steven Tyler. He is clearly an imposter or the ghost of Steven Tyler...lol. He was very creepy at first with his sexual comments to the young girls, but he seems to have cleaned up and the show is running smoothly.

Ok, lol not so many fans of AI I see

but I can't help it, me and me kid like the show, and yesterday we watched one eliminated out of 9

and it was a shock of our lives!!! even more so when Casey was in the bottom three, only to be saved by the judges.

I can't believe Pia was voted off over Stefano and Haley. Have you seen the judges faces??? stunned, just stunned.

Not that I think she is 'better' than either of them, but ...
In a way she is, she does have a perfect voice, perfect stage persona,
is a born performer.

But... for people who are not into ballads, ballads, ballads a'la Celine Dion she indeed can be a bit boring.

Personally, give me Haley any time!
She has spunk, she has twinkle, she brings color, sexy and fun Pia does not and I love that!!

Also Stefano, even if perhaps comparing to Pia's power of voice and perfection of performance he is not quite as stellar -
he does have a variety in his repertoire, while Pia does not.

Her up-tempo, while not bad, obviously did not moved America voters enough.

So, good bye Pia - truly sorry to see you go, your dream to be the next A.I. dashed,
but don't worry kiddo, since you are the next Celine I am sure the record producers are already lining up on the phone to sign deals with you!
Good luck girl, and see you in Vegas!

btw I really really wish James would win.
I have a soft spot for this guy - he had so much stacked against him - Tourette's, dad died when he was little,
has now his own young family -but most and foremost is an incredible talent!

As an afterthought..

I can't help but notice how perhaps "experts" are not necessarily always right, what do you think?

Thia
was asked to include to work something more rock-and-roll-y into her style and ended up being voted off.
Pia
was asked to do the same, and ended up - voted off.
Jacob
was supposed to do that, too, but at the last minute decided to stick to what he does best and - is still in the show.

Hmm... perhaps to always do what you do best is the best idea, after all?

I agree that the talent this season is remarkable. I am sue they are all goin got get contracts. I don't care for the Lusk guy at all. I feel like he is a little too Broadway Musically -not that there is anything wrong with that, but it isn't really American Idol. I like Hayley. I loved her Benny and the Jets! It has been a fun season to watch! The stage performances have been getting really good.

Do you have any favorites, and predictions who will become the next A-I, though?
My favorite is right now Haley but I doubt she will win, although who knows!

I wish for James to win, and I am undecided between him and Scotty as winners.

Scotty btw seems to have a huge fan base following him already, eh? !!! lol

Didn't they just have some crazy investigation after viewers demanded it because Pia was booted?

Now there is a big hoop-dee-do because the producers made an overweight woman move from her seat because they didn't want to film her.

No-way!! For real? maybe it's just gossip.

People are now not only so politically correct, but genuinely sensitive to all sorts of human issues.
I find it hard to believe it would truly happen!

Ok, so I don't watch the show much, but today I switched to the channel after the game was over in time to see Casey get kicked off. His goodbye was very, very classy and he is sooooo great. I would buy a ticket to go see him live. I really, really like him and I'm glad he didn't win, so that he can remain creative without being tied into contract with AI.

Well, after his last (Casey's) performance I can't say I am much surprised.
I love him as a musician, but, frankly he scares the sh*t out of me!

I don't know maybe this is the way the geniuses are, but sometimes I think the guy is just a plain nut!

He certainly went out with a flourish. This time it looked like he was resigned to his fate and accepted it with relief, even.

I like them all, but I still keep my fingers crossed for James to win. His last performance - a simple song with guitar accompaniment - I think it was great and showed his singing abilities just very well !

And the guy is fantastic strategist, IMO - every week he is showing himself in a new, different light,
every time he delivers, and every times he scores!

Go, James, go!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!...

Post  Cluelesskitty on Fri 13 May 2011, 11:50 pm

I am bewildered, devastated, utterly shocked, blown away, overwhelmed
at James Durbin being voted off American Idol today!!!

I can't believe this so talented young man, who performed without a glitch a week after week
giving us theatrical shows worthy of professionals,
would lose to someone whose performance varied in quality from show to show,
and comparing to James' imagination and verve
was basically the same boring standing up and wave your arms about every time.

I can't understand this... I can't...
Sad

I'm hooked on this show. I agree the talent has been amazing. I felt bad for James being voted off, he was good, although I don't care for rock music (hurts my head!). I still think he'll get a recording contract. To be honest I thought he'd win.

I like both Lauren and Haley, and also Scotty. I think they'll all do well with contracts but it's exciting to see who will win.

Finally, a fellow AI fan!!!, whoohoo!

I am heartbroken for James was my favorite.
Whether or not we are metal fans, we need to admit James put his soul and heart into his every show,
his imagination and dedication into every performance was total,

I think the level of theatrics he displayed can be matched to the best rock groups like Van Halen, Judas Priest
and maybe if by judging by his vocal abilities alone each of them had equal chances I believe James tipped scales
by his showmanship.

Some AI fans online commented what has possibly had cost James his votes
was how undeservedly hard Randy and Jennifer AGAIN went down on Haley, which caused widespread outrage
and show of support for her.

I think it's very likely, as myself I felt more and more annoyed with Randy and Jennifer for constantly singling Haley
out for critique, and being so particularly hard on her this time.
Her (Haley) distress clearly was palpable. She couldn't even try to smile that time.

So, yes, it could be that out for sympathy for Haley more people voted for her than for James thinking that James is safe anyway and if anybody is gonna go home, it will be Lauren or Scotty.

Now it will be really interesting to see who will win the AI this season,
even if without James it has lost it's spark for me :[....
