... if you collect anything at all?

I don't have any big, complete collections except for my books - I LOVE to buy books, and stack them on shelves.
If I could I would have every wall shelved, and filled with books and a bit of chotchkies here and there,
preferably only silver. Silver does look good against them books.

Apart from my large book collection I have some Victorian style dolls, with a few non- in between,
a few Barbie-s and bit of Barbie's accessories
a few pottery and glass pieces,
a bunch of post- and greeting cards,
a bunch of nice patterned paper table napkins -mostly flower motifs, (one is with a really cool million dollar note!)
a bit of stickers - and planning to organize it into a neat album
a perfume bottles, of course
some coins, nothing serious.

I probably missed something, if I did I will add later.

I have a huge collection of meds! lol meds that didn't work. I have saved them all.

I also have a huge collection of art supplies. This is huge and takes up our spare bedroom. It drives DW crazy.

I also have a large collection of scrapbook supplies. I have never completed a scrapbook, yet I have the supplies to do about 15 of them. This naturally includes a lot of card making supplies, as both kind of go hand in hand.

Our home has a large collection of buddhas. I mean, at least 10 in the living room alone. Smile

I do have several collections. My first was limited edition decorative plates with horse themes. Next came a small collection of Beatrix Potter figurines and the books that go with them. One Mothers day, my daughters started my collection of perfume bottles.

Funny since I dont use any perfume! My Mom started my collection of Santas. I now have about 15, all very different. I also have lots of books. I do not like to get rid of any that I enjoy. Thank goodness for the Nook. I wont get buried under the books I am hoarding!

I have a huge collection of books (over 1000), a perfume bottle collection including some really neat ones from my Nana, and I collect rock and crystal eggs. Here is a small part of my collection of eggs.

Beautiful, Alli.

I kind of stopped collecting, hubby and sons broke my spirit. I collected midnight blue Cambridge caprice glassware.http://www.cyberattic.com/directory/Glassware:Depression:Patterns:Caprice.html

I had candelabras, serving bowls...I had collected for years. And yes, you easily find it on the Internet, but the thrill of collecting is the hunt, finding a piece at a garage sale for 1/10th the value.

When we moved it was packed so lovingly, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, professional sturdy boxes. Huge red letters FRAGILE, DO NOT STACK on every side of the box. I got home from work and saw boxes stacked in the driveway ready to be loaded on the truck. And I saw my neat red lettering at the bottom of the stacks.

Neighbors for blocks heard my meltdown.

Some pieces survived but the most intricate (and valuable) were broken. Hubby of course offered to replace it but, 1) we pool our money and I make more for I'd be paying for it anyway, and 2) I wouldn't be able to find it for the rock bottom price I had collected it for for over 15 years.

Oh, I also collect Swarovski Christmas Angels. I did do the snowflakes, but then eldest son started that tradition with his girlfriend ( now wife) so when I'm gone it will be nicer to leave the angels to her, instead of duplicate snowflakes.

That is heartbreaking... Sad A meltdown is very appropriate in that instance. I would have been beyond pissed off.

I also collected glass ornaments for the Christmas Tree, one new one each year. But when my lovely cats where just kittens, I stupidly put them in the tree and the little darlings broke most of them. I have the pieces but haven't been able to find a good glass glue to repair what I can. Now I just don't have the same desire to collect them.... so many are broken.

The good thing about the eggs is that they are rocks! Sarah smacked my obsidian (volcanic glass) egg against another one when she was little and put some small shatter marks on it, but didn't break it. Now I look at those shatter marks as a bit of character! Smile

I can't decide which is my favorite, Alli, but I think it's the aqua one with a little bit of white on the top. It's positioned on the left, second from the top. Then jumping in a completely different direction my next favorite is the one below it, with the browns. It has the color of a tigers eye.

Do you have a VERYy favorite?

I keep my ornaments on a separate metal ornament tree high up on a old antique radio. My critters have knocked over too many trees in the past, and the collection is slowly getting valuable.

One of my favorites is the that Mahogany Tigers Eye. I like that one because is is reddish rather than the usual gold and brown. The other two favorites are a labadorite that is iridescent when looked at under a light and the Obsidian (shatter marks and all). And the flourite one is really cool also, purple and green crystal.... soooo many it's hard to choose.

I have about 100 eggs, quite a few of them are different onyx colors, every color but black! and I have about 70 or so that are different minerals or crystals. I rotate them on my desk so eventually most of my collection will be on my desk at one point or another. I always get nice comments from clients.

Oh my gosh Alli, I collect cystals too! I love your collection. I would love to be able to touch them. I have waaaaay less then you but I love what I have so far. I am drawn to the balls, though I have some great eggs too. I also like things in raw form, so I have quite a bit in raw. I have many favorites, but I just got a nice sized ball of Russian jet. I LOVE it.

I have quite a bit of raw also.

This is one of my favorites. A friend of mine gave it to me. I could never afford a piece of amethyst this big. If life had gone the way I planned it, I would have been a geo-chemist. Collecting rocks and crystals is my way of keeping that love alive.
