I remember one of former Ronda's girls - Genxgirl, I think - was his patient and adored him, he was so good.

Whatever came of this "surgery"?
I don't recall anybody getting surgeries for M left and right so I don't suppose it was that great of a success.

I think the face lift where the side effect was less M got more coverage than this...?

This is one of the docs Ali is always complaining about--one who stole his migraine surgery ideas.

I just looked at posts/links Ali just recently posted at Ronda's, and he is complaining again about this South African doc.

I think Petz'si successful migraine surgery in London was based upon all of this.

My eyes glaze over with Ali...I don't follow it enough to understand it. I'm not a neurosurgeon, LOL! It's too technical. So I don't know how they differ.

Ali has complained endlessly about Dr. Shevel and the doc in Italy. He met the Italian doc in person when that doc visited him in Syria. I doubt he has ever met Shevel. I've seen some exchanges online between Ali and Shevel. Ali posted the exchanges. Wow, were they interesting to read. Shevel doesn't like Ali at all, to say the least.

I think there is something to Ali's theories and practices, but he gets nowhere with it because of his rants.

Because of Ali dubious "migraine device" = piece of metal half-ring, I always doubt his credentials.
Maybe it's just his poor English that does that, I don't know.

Has anybody ever confirmed he is indeed a legit MD?

Here is what Ali is saying:

"I discovered migraine points for migraine (numbers 1 and number 3), and the result is medical journals refused to publish my work but they accepted to publish the work about my migraine points from Doctors who asked my permission to use my migraine points!!!!!!

Professor Cianchetti is the Italian doc. He and his wife went to Syria to meet with Ali and to learn from him. And Ali gave him permission to publish Ali's "ideas," but Cianchetti didn't want to mention Ali's name.

I think Cianchetti came up with his own "migraine device," but I could be wrong. I think Antonella has corresponded with him. Maybe she mentioned the device?

All of this makes me think there is something to Ali's work. I do believe he is a real neurosurgeon in Syria.

I once emailed a reporter who was trying to get to the bottom of who came up with the "ideas" first--Ali or Shevel. This reporter came up with the conclusion that they both came up with it about the same time. But Ali continues to say that Shevel stole his ideas.

His poor English and rantings work against him. But I do believe he is a real neurosurgeon. I don't have any way of proving it. Just my gut feeling after following his videos, from what he says, from his internet conversations with Shevel, and from talking with this reporter and so on.

I suppose being from Syria, a rather small country and not being fluent in English did him in, then.
I feel sorry for him now.

Although, the most damaging is his lack of common sense, I guess.

So many people at Ronda's wanted at first to sincerely help him and warned him against this characteristic ranting of his.
We did warned him, didn't we, it doesn't make him sound credible. Did he listened? Nope.

I still doubt the device works as good as they claim.

Maybe for a lucky selected few.

I am doubtful also. I believe in acupressure, but to find the exact right spots on every migraineur's head so that the device would actually help...just too many variables.

And brain pain can be from other causes...not every person with brain pain is a migraineur.

Ali is back again. Sigh. I've no idea what his formal medical training is, but he seems to be pretty unhinged. This two things are not mutually exclusive.

Honestly, the world of research is full of professional jealousies and who had which idea first issues. And yes there are certainly people who do not give proper credit to others and try to purlion their ideas. This may be a case of that, or not. I have no way to know.

My problem is that this is not the proper venue for this debate. It needs to occur in medical journals with medical professionals. We are the patients here. Leave us out of it please Dr. Ali.

Honestly, the world of research is full of professional jealousies and who had which idea first issues.

Oh, yes, especially when the invention or the discovery = big bag of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
even more so that the prestige in the science world.

Research is only as good as the ethics behind it.

Actually researchers are far more motivated by recognition than by money. Otherwise they would have chosen a different profession such as hedge fund manager.
