Computer Question Empty Computer Question

I have been having the MOST annoying thing happen with my computer and I need some help. I have a PC and run Vista and IE8. Many times a day, I lose count, while trying to load a form or enter a financial transaction on a site that has a really good security protocol, the page will not load. I get the stupid message that says Internet Exploder cannot load this page. After oh three or four tries, it will eventually load. Sometimes I have to exit IE and re- log in to get my page.

Everyone in my office who has any computer knowledge, including our computer guru, are stumped. Our tech dept is stumped. I have gone to some websites for info and they were no help other than to tell you to run Firefox, which I do for most of the sites but our home office uses IE not Firefox. I've scanned for viruses and malware, defraged my hard drive, cleaned my cache, deleted my cookies ( which I HATE doing, just to let you know how desperate I am), checked all my security settings and a few other tricks that didn't get me anywhere.

Does anyone else have this issue with IE8? Any clues on how to get it to work properly? I can't upgrade to IE9 until our home office has made sure it is compatible with our software so I'm stuck with IE8. I can't go back to IE7 either as some of my stuff won't load properly with IE7. I'm hoping it is just some weird issue that needs a setting adjustment but I don't know. Sooooo frustrating.

Any ideas?

I am just as stumped as you are Alli.
On occasion I too, was timed out trying to load some forms into my files.
I don't know why that happens.

Try to update you Adobe reader or whatever program do you use for loading such pages, maybe?

I use MF all the time as I find it convenient to have the automatic speller Smile

Alli I finally gave up withal those headaches and spent the extra bucks on a MacBook. I have one program that I do have to run Windows, but I was able to set up Virtual Windows for that.

When we had Vista at the workplace it gave me fits. We're not having as many problems since we switched to Windows 7. I'm mad that I can't get XP anymore...that had the fewest bugs.

So even though I use a Mac I'm the only employee that does. And I'm also one of the only ones who doesn't sit and curse at my computer.

Sorry I can't help you more.
