Ugh...it just aggravates me. A girlfriend has had migraines since she was a little girl. She is 36. She found in her adult life if she took a vicoden and went to bed it would get rid of the migraine.

She went to a new neuro who doesn't believe in narcotics for migraines. Really? Even though for over 15 years narcotics have worked for this patient? I hate when Drs treat us all the same with cookie cutter medicine.

I know. I can't stand when health professionals are such idiots.

Yeah, I experienced this with a neurologist who wanted to "revisit" the meds another doctor tried, even though they did not work.

Many doctors suffer from what is called a "God complex". They only dispense based on their preconceived ideas and most certainly aren't interested in what the lowly patient has to say. These persons take great joy in being as condescending as possible. And if their prescriptions aren't working, or they dont know what is wrong with you, then it most certainly is your own fault. Likely you aren't really ill at all, but just suffering from depression or some other psychiatric illness. Doctors are actually taught in medical school that 10% of all patients are hypochondriacs, usually women, making fall into this ridiculous trap

This is a truly pathetic state of affairs. I've quit wasting my time and money on anyone falling into this category. They have no interest in changing, and I have no interest in the lousy results they produce. I recommend voting with your feet and leaving ASAP. There are good and caring doctors out there who will at least try to help find solutions to help their patient. It just takes a little more time and trial by error to find them.
