Pain meds.

My doctor gave me a few percocets earlier this week for the really bad headaches I still get sometimes. On the bottle it says one or two tablets once a day. Do any of you take them and if so, have you taken more during the day if needed? I think they are giving me rebound headaches as I took a couple before bed and woke up next morning with terrible head pain. Not sure I'll get them any more if that's the case, just use up what I have left.

I take up to 8 a day, and it is not so much a rebound as the analgesic tends to "inflame" the blood vessels or nerves or whatever it was
in the brain, I forgot - it was from article I read at Blackwell-Synergy written by Dr Dodick many years ago,
the mechanism is different
but the resulting HA for us, unfortunately, the same.

That's why I always take it with a triptan,
try take just a triptan after or first P with a triptan and when the pain lessens, plain Tylenol with a triptan Ruth.
(also, I would advise to cut the triptan pills into smaller pieces, I find that we do not always need to take the whole amount
to be helped -sometimes even 1/4 is enough)
After the appropriate amount of time passes, that is.
