Getting my thyroid biopsy report back tomorrow

If you read my previous post on thyroid issues, I think dated March 31st, you will see that I have been waiting a long time to find out just what is wrong with my thyroid! Last Thursday they took three biopsies on my neck. The noduel is basically on my wind pipe which is bad. If I get stressed or somehow swell at all it feels like someone is pressing down on my adams apple with their thumb. Very uncomfortable.

I am praying that I do not have cancer. If I had my way the pill that would help produce the hormone the thyroid is supposed to produce would shrink the noduel and I would not have to do anything at all except for take a pill.

Jewish mom did your daughter lose weight when she took synthroid? I know she did not take it long but I am just wondering. I would love to lose weight.

If I do not have cancer I still may have this noduel out since it is pressing on my wind pipe. I am told it is a small incision now and not a slice across the neck. Either way I will have it. Nothing like waking up to the feeling of someone choking you.

Oh my friend! My thoughts are with you and I'm sending all my positive vibes and energy to you.
It is so very hard to go through the waiting game. Finally getting the news, either good or bad will be a relief. I hope it's good news. The surgery will be quick and easy. The scare is not even noticable.

I have a friend with Hashimoto. She did lose a bit of weight the first time she started Synthroid but I have to be honest-
the weight issue is an ongoing problem,
BUT also, she is not imho eating as little as she thinks she is.

Thank you ladies for your support. I really appriciate it. Do you know that I waited over a week for the results??? Just crazy. I have good news in that it is not cancerous. yeah but I do need to get the goiter out since it is pressing on my wind pipe and is very uncomfortable. Goiter out should be easy compared to having my whole thyroid out so that is good. I will have to be put to sleep though which I am not looking forward to at all.

I am very disapointed with the hospital and the staff at my doctors office. The hospital told me three different times to get to the hospital for the biopsys. The last time I was aready prepped and in the bed. I just looked at her at that time and told her this was the third different time they gave me! The hospital only sent the ultra sound report and not the biopsy report to the doctors so it took them until this Friday to tell me. They said I was to know on Monday, Tuesday morning at the latest. My doctors office kept telling me they were going to call me twice and never did. I am carrying my cell phone to the bathroom and everywhere I went. It was crazy.

So I am looking for a new ENT. I was very disappointed in the doctors office.

I am sure you were anxious about the whole thing, to mess up like that repeatedly is so callous!

I really hope you will find a decent new ENT as nowadays to find a simply appropriately mannered medical professional is,
I don't know, a thing of the past ???
