How are you doing lately, sweeties?
You've been missing for too long now. I've been worried about you, girls.
Would you drop us a line how are the things with you at present, please?
Wendy - how is the marriage? are the stuff better, worse, same? and how's your cutest ever boys?
Chris - where?! are you? I am SO worried! how is your post-op situation? all's continue to be well I hope?

Re: Greeneyes and Crt...
Hey Risa..you are so sweet. Hubby has been a lot nicer lately..truly thankful..he has even done things around the house..so things are looking up on that end.. As far as the migraines another story..I'm "too difficult to treat.." quoting my new PCP..cried for an hour yesterday over this.
I think I've submitted..medical doctors may not solve this..leaving this to my maker...
Bless you heart..you are a migraine angel..love you dearly

Re: Greeneyes and Crt...
Greeneyes,
Research pain management. It has allowed me to have a life. Addiction rates are low if done properly. The goal is to cut the pain by 50% so it's tolerable.
There are, of course, drawbacks to this type of therapy...all drugs have side effects. But this way has gotten me out of my bedroom and living.

Greeneyes....keep challenging the system and working it as hard as you can. It's ok to take a breather from it, but you still have to keep charging like a bull.
Take care!

Re: Greeneyes and Crt...
Thank you so much Char and Marc
..I was pretty darn feisty the last time I went to the ER..thought my kidneys weren't working again..was treated great until I mentioned my head was killing me..with the renal failure(acute)..that was the worst migraine I ever had..that could have been the sepsis though..so once I mentioned the head I was treated like a drug seeker. I'm a quiet person..who's shy, but I wasn't at that moment. Erik isn't really helpful at the ER..he sleeps the entire time and complains..grr.
I stopped the dilaudid a little over three weeks ago..just wasn't working as well..that and my dilaudid injection once a week..so other than Toradol injections I'm not taking anything for the pain..So I've been hurting pretty darn bad.. I asked my new PCP if we could change the pain meds..he told me no because nothing was working...any advice on this guys?
Love to both of you Char and Marc..praying for you guys..

Re: Greeneyes and Crt...
Wendy,
In your state what is a PCP (just so I know we're talking the same thing). If they told you you were too hard to treat then you keep trying to find someone else. I drive six hours every month to see my neuro certified pain specialist.
I am treated with rescues but I take them all day. No, I don't get rebounds, I also have lower back problems. But when we started treating the lower back with opioids is when I noticed my head was under control. Hmmm......who would have thunk it...the cookie cutter, narcotics are bad for chronic migraines gave me my life back.
I take oycontin ER, and a mixture of norco and vicoprofen (the vico works better but he is trying to save my stomach....everything we do has side effects) and I have dilaudid and also toradol injections.
Bad thing, yes I'm physically dependent....that's why the ER was added to keep me from going though mini withdrawal throughout the day. But do the research, there is a difference between addiction and physical dependence. It's interesting to study and when used for physical pain is seldom addicting. The problem comes in when it's used for physchological pain ( sorry for spelling).
Are you close to a metropolitan area?

Wendy, I'm glad things are better for you at home.
Can you go to Kaiser's Pain Clinic?

Re: Greeneyes and Crt...
I agree with Charlotte, Wendy.
Not to say narcotic pain relief is to everybody. maybe it is not for you, maybe it is.
My point is, drs often dismiss it as something morally unacceptable whereas this is simply a medical treatment, for crissake.
If in your case Wendy "everything failed" to control the pain, well the heavy artillery meaning responsible narcotic pain relief wasn't tried, I'm sure.
Of course, many sufferers deny this themselves in fear of being branded the addicts.
Well I say to those who brand me 'F..U..'
(with deepest apologies for my French!) because they are not living my daily heII.
I dare them to wear my shoes for a week and not beg for Percocet fast, either.
