I couldn't beleive this article when I read it! This, coming from a doctor! I wish there was a way that I could get crap like this removed. To think, all these years of migraines and pain and wasted life and wanting to kill myself.....and all I needed was TYLENOL!!!!!! How stupid am I!!!!

It just makes me so mad I want to smash something.

I'm with you enigma. I have a very hard time believing 56% got relief. If that number is valid, then these folks were not, in actuality having migraines.


Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......... a pox on them, and I don't wish daily migraines on anyone, but please just give them one good vomiting migraine for a couple days and a couple Tylenol to help get them through.

What a joke! Seriously, this lady should get spammed by migrainuers everywhere. As if we haven't tried Tylenol, Motrin, Aleve, aspirin and every other product out there, repeatedly, and then a bunch more times to no avail. I'm sure she thinks that amputees just need to get a band-aid.

I see someone else is also of the same opinion as me..
Plus, almost everyone except one person who think tylenol with coffee can help, is sneering at the idea.

I couldn't let it rest.

I emailed her and told her that what she was doing was trivializing migraines and setting us back 30 years. I said of course we have all tried OTC and if they worked then there wouldn't be an issue. I told her that of all the chronic pain patients who commited suicide, that half of them were head pain patients so that would tell you how serious it was and to please remove her article as it was demeaning and breeding steriotypical views that migraines are nothing.

I am in another -chronic pain forum- and she did respond and said that she had migraines too and didn't agree with the clinical trial either but that is why she posted it.

I told her that she is a doctor and her words have power and that if she didn't agree then she should say so

I noticed she posted on comments again, but is defending it.
Makes me mad still. Own up to it. It's hurtful.


Thanks for putting comments in, Risa. It's only by speaking up that we stop this kind of negativity.

Far too many suffer from this debilitating condition (around 10% according to WHO), that is greatly misunderstood or trivialized."

It is clear that from the beginning the real reason she posted this was only to provoke.

I am also really doubting the legitimacy and independence of that forum. Most doctors do not have the time to be posting articles on forums like that. Furthermore, she is an Assistant professor at USC which means she is trying to get tenure. No way does she have time for that.

I think these doctors are likely paid to post there. And may not even write what they post. Drug companies have been paying ghost writers to write papers for professors to publish under their name. There has been a big stink about it in the research community. They are supposed to disclose such things ethically, but many do not. Scientific journals are now requiring people to sign that it is their own work, but on a site like that it would not be the case. And most people would be none the wiser. And since this is a site that is set up to get advertising money, the link to what's put out by the staff doctors would be much closer.
