Thinking of our Southern friends

I'm horrified by the death and destruction that happened in our southern states yesterday. One area had 137 tornadoes. Unbelievable. Over 200 dead...we have not had destruction like this from tornadoes in over 40 years.

It makes me hope that I will not be as complacent as I usually am when we have tornado warnings. I admit that instead of going to the basement like I should, I go outside to "spot". I'm fascinated by them.

So sad to the see the ruin in the tornadoes wake....

I've been down with a m for the past two days, but it seems I'm very out of the loop. How horrible. Is it going to let up soon do you think?

I am terrified for all our Southerners Fab-Underworlders. Anyone here from these parts?
I hope everyone is accounted for, safe and sound.

It is horrifying indeed, the sheer force of the tornadoes and then the aftermath.
I am heartbroken for the families left devastated in so many ways -physical and emotional.

What's going on with the weather these days in the world, for gosh sake?

What I found upsetting to day in the United States news was that we have a death count of 270 and climbing, which is unheard of in the US. The worse tornadoes in the US in 70 years. Yet I had to dig for information about it because of the Royal wedding.

Am I interested in the wedding? Sure, the bride was very pretty. But that is entertainment, fluff...We have the National Guard called out for a state of emergency, but yet a news story on if Pippa overshadowed the bride took priority in the US news.

Shameful.

I don't hear from her, outside of the forums. We talked on the phone once, but that was long ago. I hope we hear from her soon. Her area was hit, but it wasn't the worst area that was damaged, I don't think.
