Day two of migraine
I'm on day two of a bad one, took Percocet yesterday (which my doctor kindly gave me a few of) and it helped but it's back this morning. I took a Maxalt over an hour ago and it's still bad. Do I take more Percs or what? Has anyone found they cause rebounds? I invited friends over for dinner tomorrow earlier this week and I need to clean my house etc. so I really hope my head eases up.

Re: Day two of migraine
Ruth, some folks get rebounds, some don't. Personally I think they're overrated. I takes narcotics everyday and don''t get rebounds from them (I take them daily for my back).
I would go ahead and take one so you can get ready for and enjoy your company.

Re: Day two of migraine
Ruth, I feel for you.
For the pain you are in, and for the dilemma you are in.
I know what it is like to be torn about "what do I do? should I take this? shouldn't I? should I wait longer?
should I take that instead?"
Ruth, if the doctor allows you, if the pain is bad enough to warrant Perc., try taking both half of your triptan,
or even a quarter if you have the stronger dose, and the Percocet together.
I find it work a lot better for me that the whole dose of triptan alone or the painkiller alone.
Repeat if necessary. And that should abort the episode
Hope that helps. Hope the M is gone by now, anyway.
oh, and no, I don't get rebounds from P.

Re: Day two of migraine
It took a couple of hours for the Maxalt and Perc. to work but I feel a bit better this evening, a little drained but not the severe pain any more. I do find the Perc's make me a little nauseated though.
Thankyou!

Re: Day two of migraine
I am glad you feel better Ruth!
My daughter is very nauseated from codeine. I somehow am not from neither T3 nor Percocet.
Ruth, maybe try ginger tea.
I once bouth organic Yogi Ginger tea, it's quite bitter but it did help with nausea quite well.
Not with severe M, but with lesser ones it worked well for me.
I wonder, maybe even fresh ginger would work, too, but that probably is too spicy?
