Question About This Forum? Empty Question About This Forum?

Does this forum get picked up on Google like Ronda's does?

For example...if I write about Ketamine, can someone google Ketamine and find my posts?

Yes, you will notice that the bing and google bots are often logged on, which means the bots are combing through our content picking out searchable items. It does not mean it would show up in a search, it just means that it is possible. Ronda's has so much more traffic that her searches would show up more frequently.

I have found my Ronda posts while doing google searches. Not liking that, but what is done is done.

When I talk about Ketamine here, I will refer to it as "K."

Thanks, Milo!

Cheryl, that means a lot if people are reading your posts since Google organizes by popularity. So that's a good thing.

One of the reasons I don't use my real identity. I just about flipped the first time I googled something and found something I had written on Rondas.

Since I talk about the dark days I have etc. I would rather that not be searchable to anyone in my professional world or my staff. So, Charlotte, I am.

Migrainegirl, you are a lot smarter than me when you picked your name for these forums. I just didn't realize how google was going to pick up the things I write, when I started posting eight years ago!

Unfortunately there are both good and bad things about the blogosphere.

Cheryl, on this forum you can always edit and change your profile, your username, your name anytime.
With old Ronda's, probably not as she had a time limit but on Forumotion probably yes.

It's however a helluva of work to go back and start changing everything.
Much simpler would be to just set up a new account, just like some pple did.

Yes, this is why the rules are very clear about not sharing anyones real names etc, and warns that things are public.

Clueless totally stole what I was going to respond....that I've set the forum up to allow name changes. Please do this if you have concerns.

We could also come up with a list of code words and use them. It would be a bit confusing for new people but would otherwise be a good idea.
