Food smells = instant migraine...
There are certain food items that might smell quite nicely but will give me instant Migraine episode.
For example, sage - I love how the sage smells, but too much too close and I am done in five minutes - raging M!
Smells that I don't like and will do me in less than 2 minutes- fresh green onions, fresh leeks, regular onion,
dry caraway seeds
these:
OMG, I will never ever forget this odor!
I was a wee girl watching my mom cooking in the kitchen, and one day I realised the moment she is frying these seeds in the pan
I am getting horrible headache from the smell! my parents weren't sure if to believe me or not but I was adamant it's from the smell.
so to err on the safe side they removed me from the kitchen when mom was cooking this particular soup.
Turmeric - I once saw Martha Stewart's show on dyeing Easter eggs
by using homemade dyes, and tried this turmeric. Oh gosh, what a migraine followed...

I'll never forget the time I was in ER with a wicked migraine, couldn't open my eyes the lights hurt my head so much, but a woman walked in and sat down next to me with a stinky salad, I'm surprised I never puked over it!
Risa, I use Turmeric a lot and haven't found it to be a trigger. It's supposed to have excellent cancer fighting properties. One of my favourites is to cut up small chunks of potatoes, mix in a little olive oil and a small amount of turmeric, it gives it a nice golden colour.
I hate the smell of popcorn which my husband just made!

It just shows how different we all are
Only some things are major common triggers for all, hardly ever everyone is sensitive to exactly the same thing if such things exist.
Mostly everyone has its own personal M trigger.
This is why it is so hard to say what will bring on OUR migraine.
For me it can be turmeric or caraway, for you popcorn, and for Milo not a food whatsoever!
