Bad M- frustrated

Hi All,

Well, it is definitely IV time. I have had a pretty bad one for a few weeks, but right now it is really bad and I hate it. I have a call in to the neuo and hope that the IV center can get me in sometime this week.

Not sure what to do right now. Basically living on the whole klonopin, ultram, benedrul thing. just hopins g this get better soon,

Can you use an abortive medication like Relpax to abort the migraine? Hang in there, praying for you!!

Scone, when my head gets that bad, the only thing that helps me is a long deep sleep. That requires good pain management (for me strong narcotic IV or injection) and anti-nausea (only Phenergan or sometimes Zofran with anti-anxiety med). I tell the ER people that I have to get into a deep sleep to end the migraine. I hope you get your IV and feel better. How is your fainting? Give Dora a pat for me!

thanks for the messages.

I got a call from the IV center today and the earliest I can get in is on Tuesday at 130. (My nurse Allen, tries to get me in as quickly as possible, but they are short staffed and quite busy. Still, he will let me know if there is a cancellation.)

Triptans don't work for me anymore- the only ones that ever did were imitrex and amerge. I may try a short course of decadron though. I am not sure what else to do except for what I am doing- trying to rest, meds, distractions etc. I have zanaflex for sleep and that knocks me out pretty well- but doesn't get rid of the headache. Still, it is good to know that rest helps.

I don't have a whole lot to do tomorrow. So maybe more rest will help.

I'd love any other advice.

I don't have any advice, but I send my good wishes, and any spare energy I can muster. It's been a bad week here too, but I wanted to wish you well, and I hope they can squeeze you in early.
