Really bad few weeks

We went to Kauai for a get away and it was wonderful. Problem is, on the return flight, we ended up 37 hours delayed due to various calamities.

The bad news is that I have been in absolute migraine hell since then. I am barely functioning. I manage a few hours of work but then I am done for the day. Then every single noise gets louder and louder and more painful and more painful with each tick tick of the clock. I lose my will to live and fight this monster. I become a monster to anyone around me. I'm so fed up of never getting ahead of this damn curse.

I'm in the last course of my schooling and cannot function enough to get it done!

It all has me crying a lot.

I need some voodoo chickens my friends.

I have been in migraine for about 8 days with one day break in that. For me, altitude changes can trigger the "monster" migraines. Flying is always a guarantee that I will suffer.

Voodoo chickens are of no help and never will be. I am praying for you this morning, while holding my own head in my hands....

I do not know why God allows such suffering to continue for any of us here, I wish I had an answer for that. I understand how you feel, being cranky and irritable. Along with the pain, there is a loss of quality of life, of feeling like we a competent human beings, instead of walking around with migraine brain in a fog from pain and medication.

There have been times every month that I have asked God to let me die, that I am just wasted space on this planet. Yet here I am and I don't know what value I could possibly have for Him or anyone else most days. I say all of this so you will know that I understand the grief and roller coaster emotions that plague all of us here.

If I had the power to reach out to Canada and heal you or anyone, I would do it through the grace of God. I can only pray that this will break soon for you and for me too.

You have my sympathies. Flying can really screw me up as well. But usually it only lasts 1-2 days. Is there anything you can get for a major intervention?

I see my pain specialist on Wed for nerve blocks and Botox, so fingers crossed I get my life back by this weekend. I can survive with a migraine, but not this. I call this my shotgun migraine because the only thing that can take the pain away would be a shotgun. I've never found anything that takes this one away, I just need to shut out every stimuli and hope for the best.

I'm hanging in. Fingers crossed I wake up without it tomorrow morning.

I just figured I fill you in, since I don't think you were here yet when the chicken thing started up. I think it was Risa, somebody here spoke of another site where someone wanted to voice their hopes and prayers for another person, and the site had so many people of differing faiths, that they nicknamed any positive thinking or prayer as shaking the 'voodoo chicken'. I know you have devout Christian faith, and I know that that alone could make all our talk of voodoo and chickens seem really unhelpful or blasphemous, but it's become a nickname for all our hopes, prayer, and positive thinking.

I hope I don't upset you if you already knew this, but since it's been a while since anybody here's explained the background, so I thought I'd try to share the reasoning.

I survived the injections......so painful as I had to drive so I couldn't take anything for pain until I drove the hour or so long drive home. He bruised me a lot today. My neck is in so much pain, but I know this will help in a week or so.

I did ask about ordering tordal injections and he was open to it, so I need to do some leg work to give him more info and then he will order. For those that have them, what dosage are your injections of tordal? (Not to be confused with the IV dose)

Just want you to know how sorry I am you are both suffering so much. Believe me, I've been there, forty five years of migraines, many times thinking I could put a gun to my head to end the pain. I don't know how old you both are, probably a lot younger than me. I turn 66 in April even though I feel like a kid a lot of the time, but I haven't been getting severe migraines for a few years now, I do still get them once in a while but never have to spend a day or two in bed like I used to have to do every single week, or trips to the hospital. If I start to get one a Maxalt will often abort it. Sometimes I wake up and start to get one, I drink a mug of tea and it goes without any medication. Perhaps once you go through menopause yours will ease up, I sure hope so.

if only we also got  rich, too so we could fix a wrinkle here and there to keep looking as good as we start to feel, eh?
