For the spiritually minded My prayers was answered last night.

Post  KimbaK on Tue 27 Aug 2013, 7:33 am

I know some of us have differing views on religion so I'm letting you know up front my story is about an answered prayer. Kind of blows my mind, because I am a Christian but did not think migraine prayers get answered Shocked

I've had a bad migraine since Sunday. Weather related and I ran out of my sleeping pills Friday. Naturally I had no refills at the pharmacy and both of my GP type doctors were out yesterday so I haven't slept in 3 nights. I've dozed for an hour here and there, but this really bites!!

Anyway, I got through yesterday as it was the first day of school and I didn't want to ruin it for my daughter. Its her last year of elementary school and she's feeling very mature and all. But Sunday and yesterday, I suffered. Last night I'm lying in bed with my ice pack on my head, trying to fall asleep so I can escape the pain. It hurt so bad I just couldn't stand it.

Around 3 am, I started praying. And kind of fussed at God. I asked Him why was He leaving me to suffer like this. I had done everything I was supposed to with meds, relaxation exercises, etc... I said I felt abandoned and alone and I asked Him to please make it stop. AND IT DID, RIGHT THAT SECOND.

It just stopped. I am a Christian and there is no doubt in my mind that God exists. I know He's answered my prayers before but this time, it was just different. There was no gradual lessening of the pain, which is my normal routine with the medication and ice pack. It just stopped. It was so awful and it had just drained me to the point of hopelessness.

I think we all know how it feels to be alone in the dark suffering. Nothing and no one can help us. We are just doomed to ride it out as best we can. Even when we have the love and support of our loved ones, it doesn't change how badly we hurt.

Even though I still couldn't sleep, I did stop hurting. I hope all of us have moments of relief like that one. Even if it never happens again, that was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.

Correcting bad grammar. And I have no idea how to spell grammar at this moment. Spell check left it alone in the title, but corrected it here.

I need sleep!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand what you are saying. When God does answer immediately it is a miracle and a wonder, I just wish He would do something "permanent" where migraine is concerned. I am so glad that He heard your despair and was moved to come to your side and help.

I am a person of faith as well, although recently where suffering is concerned I struggle. I know the scripture states that it refines our character and makes a better person out of us; I just wish I didn't have to be in "class" so often Smile

I agree

Whenever I hear the saying "God never gives us more than we can bear" I just want to say, "I wish he didn't have so much confidence in me."

The migraine didn't stay away long; it seems to have moved right back in. I guess divine intervention is a limited time offer Sad

This too shall pass...

Our hope is in the life to come. I know we would like to have a great life here without suffering, pain, violence and crime, without dishonor, lying, cheating and stealing. But the fact's are what they are and this world is turning into a big toilet about to get the big flush..

If you are interested in End Time thoughts etc, I have a blog. Its under my given name and it is about dreams and visions I have had over the years. www.kaseyburt.blogspot.com  Sometimes I think that is the only reason God keeps me alive.

I put a link to a video someone made of three of the dreams I have had above. I think you can click on to view.

Thanks Trin,

I'll have to look that up. Today was one of those brain zap kind of days. Pain was bearable but the dizziness and zap really make it hard to do anything but sit still.
